About Sleepy Birds

A few quiet tools for the middle of the night, and honest writing about sleep.

Sleepy Birds is built for one situation: you are lying in a dark room, it is late, and your mind will not settle. Everything here is designed to be used in that room, on a phone, half-awake, without making things worse.

What you will find

Four tools, each based on a technique with at least some research behind it: a cognitive shuffle, 4-7-8 breathing, a sleep cycle calculator and paradoxical intention. Alongside them, plain writing about how sleep works and what is worth trying, with sources.

What you will not find

  • Adverts, affiliate links or sponsored posts.
  • Anything for sale.
  • Accounts, sign-up walls or pop-ups.
  • Claims that any of this treats or cures insomnia. It does not.

How it is made

The tools run entirely in your browser. Your settings are kept on your device and nothing about a session is recorded. The site counts visits with Plausible, which does not use cookies or collect personal data. You can read the details on the privacy page, and how the writing is put together in the editorial policy.

Not medical advice

These are wellness tools, not medical treatment. If sleep has been hard for weeks, or poor sleep comes with low mood, a doctor will help more than we can. See when to get help.

Who runs it

Sleepy Birds is an independent project. It has no investors, sponsors or advertisers, and nobody pays for what is written here.
